Looks like it would work good but it's not too difficult to pick it upside down and tap the bottom a few times

I don't like ashes left on the sides when I dump it..... I don't have a shop vac dedicated for ashes. If I didn't have a pizza pan with handles I would certainly buy one.

When I was running my 75 gallon Big Drum Smoker, I couldn't stand the "dusty" trail down the side, but the barrel was so tall, I couldn't foil line it. This ash pan is sweet, but I would still foil line the bottom.............

I received my ash catcher today.  It is very heavy duty aluminum.  I can't wait to try it out.
