PBC cover cracking

Hi,
     I bought a PBC cover in August of 2014.  My PBC sits under a large carport that has sides so it's not in direct sunlight or gets any direct moisture on it.  I discovered the other day that the cover is starting to crack on the top part of the cover in several places and the entire cover feels brittle and dried out.

For those of you who have this cover, have you experienced this with your cover within a relatively short time?  I have other covers on my other grills that go 3 or 4 years before this starts to happen.  I have contacted PBC about it by email but was wanting to know if other people were having this issue.  Thanks.

No issues with mine Monte but mine is kept in the garage when not being used. Maybe this would explain why they are selling a new and improved version now! :-\

They still have not responded to my email but I'm in no hurry.  I didn't want to bother them with a phone call for this so I'll just wait.  I did find some additional small tears in the cover after looking at it more closely.  It appears that this cover has two layers since there is not any actual holes in the cover yet but that the outer layer is what is cracking.

It's UV damage.
The 1999 weber I'm restoring came with original cover & still in decent shape!
I've got a 6 month old "deal of the day cover from Amazon, in the sun that's already cracking!
I did give the cover a 1 star rating & posted pictures

My  cover isn't cracking and it will be a year from this Christmas. Sit under a patio roof but gets both sun and some sideway wind blown rain.

Covers are a grill manufacturer's frustration....  It is an item that they do not make, so maintaining quality control is more difficult. And - 1 cover will survive one region's weather - but the same cover will not do as well in another area of the country - or planet....

And - I doubt this is an is an issue in your case, but I have seen some folks put the cover on a pit - as soon as it would not burn them to do so. Be sure the PBC is completely cooled down before installing the cover. The concern here- is not about fire ( tho one can't ignore those potentials either ;D ) but, that the additional heat can shorten the life of the cover because it speeds the aging process. Heat and UV play havoc on all plastics. The more "plasticizers" ( chemical compounds that make plastics flexible ) in a product - the the more they can be affected by heat/UV.

High-quality covers can be expensive. Especially if the cover is for a grill that is not a very common size and style.

Amazon sells some very high quality covers that are reasonable priced. Wouldn't be an exact fit but should do the job

I just checked mine out and the interior does not look like yours. Maybe I have the new version....never a problem with mine. I think Noah should replace it.
