PBC Chicken this Sunday
« Reply #-1 on: July 18, 2016, 08:37:00 AM »
Hello All,
Local grocer had whole chickens on sale,  so decided to do a couple of chickens on the PBC.

Used the turkey hangers and they came out great.

Simple SPG seasoning -- and then the Alabama White Sauce

Out of PBC (then basted with Alabama White Sauce)

Carved and ready for table

Wanted to get more pics but family was hungry.

Cheers

Alabama White Sauce is a fantastic pairing for chicken. I haven eve liked event eh thought of it on pork or beef...but on chicken it is a home run. Yours looks awesome!

I've tried it once, it's a mayonnaise based sauce with some vinegar, spices etc.

"Bob Gibson is credited with concocting white sauce back in 1925. Today, this tangy, mayonnaise-based condiment, traditionally used to dress chicken, is as synonymous with the state of Alabama as legendary football coach Paul "Bear" Bryant."

Hello All,
Thank you for the kind comments.  I found the recipe on Amazingribs.com and sometimes will make with Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise.
Being from New York, my family was a bit skeptical at first, but now I can't make chicken without "the Sauce".

Thanks again for the kind comments.

Love participating on this board.

All the best.
