Is bird already thawed when you do this? mine isn't yet but it's thawing..I'm sure it can't hurt but might soggy up the bird some.   .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.
Yes Pam, thawed it out in the fridge.  Yep, one has to plan in advance.  Five days to thaw in the fridge.  Three days dry brine.  One overnight dry with herb butter under the skin and over the bird.

I usually do a wet brine, but too am going to do a dry one.  I have seen several places where they say to wash the turkey off when done brining and others not to.  What have others here done with this issue?

When I do a dry brine I never wash off the brine the next day before cooking, so I wasn't planning on doing it this time. Besides, part of the reason for letting it air dry in the icebox is to dry out the skin to help in making a nice crisp skin and washing off the brine would defeat this purpose, I would think.
