The steak cookoff season is getting into full swing!
« Reply #-1 on: June 18, 2014, 12:09:25 PM »
The season is upon us and there are a lot of SCA events on the horizon!  The North Texas Steak cookoff is going to be held in Carrollton, TX on June 28th!  So far 31 teams have signed up and we expect to have about 40 teams compete this year.  This is a really fun event held in downtown Carrollton.

The next SCA sanctioned event will be held on July 4th in Shreveport, LA.  It features a nice $2000 payout for 1st place and pays top 5 in Steak.  This will be part of there 4th of July celebration and there will be live music by BJ Thomas, Rodney Atkins and Mike of the Beach Boys!   Should be a great town and a good time to try your first steak cookoff.  I believe there will be a light turnout due to the holiday.

A couple of us were looking at the July event in Denton.  It is not clear from the website info if the admission includes a dinner or just the music.

The cost of entry is for the steak cookoff, this covers your steaks for the event and admission to the music.  There will not be dinner sold to the public at this event at all.  There will be a BBQ vendor out there selling food to the public.
