My nephew has a 35 ft boat that we would like to buy him a grill to put on it. Can anyone recommend a good one?

I think one of the weber Q's would work well in that situation. Relatively compact, uses easily stored and sourced propane canisters, and cooks as well as most full size grills.

There are a few that are made for "RV" camping...perhaps one of those will fit the bill? Lost Arrow has dug into his issue and made a couple of choices recently. He would be a good resource.

Most boat supply houses sell grills designed to mount in an advantageous place on a boat. Fire and boats need careful tending to mix well. When I had my houseboat I had a grill that mounted on a side rail and hung out over the water when in use (no grease drippings on deck) and swung back in for storage. It was handy and did a pretty good job.

You did not say Saltwater, Freshwater or both.
Having had a few boats (Saltwater) for over 30 years including a 33 foot boat I would vote for Magma.
What I like about Magma is that parts are still made for my 30 year old model. They cook well come in round or rectangle. & have many options.

I think know some modes have the ability to cook from a griddle too or use them as a stove top (options).
They have legs or little stands for table mount so that you can use them on a beach or at home if you want .
I bought the round one (gas) as it was all that was out 30 years ago.
They also have so many choices for mounting the grill on boats.
The only downside is $$$$ now if you are talking freshwater you can save money by buying another grill for a lot less.
These really hold up well in the salt ocean.

We used to use the stainless one made for boats but switched to Cobb. Mainly for safety sake with the little ones since the base stays cool.

I lived on my boat for 10 years, had a marine charcoal grill on a swing away mount. If I was to do it again, I'd go with a Weber-Q in a heartbeat. It's a serious little cooker, even better with Grill Grates.

I have a 35 foot that has a grill (electric) on the back. It works great, but being honest, we use it very little. Seems we either eat out when we are cruising or some one has dock tails going on. It does work well. I would recommend getting a silicone pad to go over the grill grates. You still can get grill marks and the silicone pad makes clean up VERY easy.

You know we don't do much on electric grills around here but I have had some good food off of them from time to time. I have a CB electric that is 20 years old but when i used it it worked out pretty good.
