I might have not noticed this on the other board but it seems like the new version of forum software here now has a link that shows me "Show unread posts since last visit" (the other board now has it too since they've upgraded).  It is a time saver.  I used to run through the board taking a look at what was new in all of the sections and it takes time to click down and back up again.  My free time seems to be even more compressed nowadays and there is plenty that I like to keep track of (especially now that there are two forums on outdoor cooking that I watch).  It is nice to have it all in one place.

On the right side of the dark blue header bars above each category there should be a  clickable link for Unread Posts. See if that works for you. To the right of that, there is a small square that has either a "+" or a "-" sign. Make sure that you have that on the "-".
Also  near the bottom of the page there is a clickable sentence for the most recent posts.
Please let me know if you need any assistance or have any additional questions.

Johnny -

There is also a small set of 3 icons under the left side of the categories, down near the bottom of the categoies that should allow you to click on one of them to show only the new posts. It looks a bit like cards that you spread a bit.
And...PS - same software and version as the other site...but we had it first :D

All, thanks for the helpful hints. I used to go through the forums on the other site by looking at the sub forums I was interested in.  I know about the new posts marker in the left hand column.  I used to scroll through the list of sub forums and dive into the sub forums of interest with new posts.  Some days it would take a bit of time to go through them all between drilling down and backing out.

I just noticed the link at the top of this forum to show all of the unread posts.  I must have not paid attention to it before but now it is a time saver for me.

Good ! I hope we can continue to tune this site for the ease of use and enjoyment of all. Of course, there will be limitations on what the software can do and remain stable - but both of the the admins are dedicated to create the best user experience they can from the website side of it.

That has been a head-scratcher Pam...thus far you and Tommy have been the only ones that I have heard from that are not able to chat. Tommy also cannot PM....can you PM?
