Hot Dog Throwdown, Part II What's your favorite?
« Reply #-1 on: September 05, 2017, 07:06:47 PM »
Decided to pit the winner from this post, http://www.letstalkbbq.com/index.php?topic=20884.msg269234#msg269234, against another contender.  BamaPat wanted some Johnsonville Brats, picked out the Chili Cheese variety.  Now I'm not a fan of Johnsonville products, always taste too processed and chemically to me.  But Happy Wife Happy Life!

Here's the contenders:

On the Weber for a nice browning

The verdict:
We gave the award for appearance to the Johnsonville dogs.  Plumper.  (is that a word?)
As far as taste it was split.  BamaPat scored them a tie, couldn't decide, liked them both.
Bamabob gave the nod to the Hebrew Nationals.  I prefer the more natural taste to the processed chemical aftertaste I always detect from Johnsonville products.

They have started making some of thier sausages with ingredients that just don't seem to go together.

I've had Nathan's once.  I burped them up afterwards, and nothing gives me indigestion.  I'll have to try them again, could have been just a combination of things.

I personally can't stand Nathan's but millions love them. No accounting for taste, lol!
