I like Cooking Big but never thought I would hear...

"Can you give us a price to do a Cookout/BBQ for our Season Ticket Holders on Race Day at the Track?" Major NASCAR Track

"How many people are we talking about?" Me

"It'll be a few thousand people..." Major NASCAR track

~pause "Sure!" Me

How cool might this be? My partner and I just agreed to get them a quote but it looks pretty good. Yes, we have a bunch of questions we will fire off to them and then should be ready to fire off a quote.

MY first question is how many is a "few" thousand? lol!!!!

More to come folks and thanks for ALL the encouragement from CB and Char-Broil, guys and gals on forums, friends and family and my dog Bones, thru to be named 2012 supporters!

Me too Bobo. Something about saying you cooked for 3,000 just has a ring to it. we meet on Monday to start going over things and coming up with menu choices for BMS.

I'll keep everyone posted.

Mike it was a fun time doing it in the Navy on the CV67 JFK....We cooked for 5000+ every meal. When we did our cookouts on the flight deck the MM's (Machinist Mates) had built us 3 100 foot grills and put them across the flight deck. Each row took about 1 pallet of charcoal to start it and another to keep it running. One grill did hamburgers, dogs and corn. One did Pork butts, chops and briskets, and the last one did Snow Crab, Lobster, NY and Rib Eye steaks. After every cook they tore them apart to store for the next cook out. Dang those were good times now that I look back at them.

I wish I had pics from it...was a young lad in those days and only camera I could afford was the old 32mm type. Lost all my cruise books and old pics in a flood at my Grandpa's place after my parents passed. I will check some of my Navy sites and see if anyone has it.
