I bet everyone here has had those meatballs in a sauce made from Heinz Chili Sauce & grape jelly.

Well last year I did a BBQ twist on those: Moink Balls in a Grape Jelly & BBQ sauce. They seemed to go over well with the family so I'll most likely make them this year as well.

How about this recipe??

This appetizer is called "PIG SHOTS"

The ingredients are Polish Kielbasa sausage cut into about 1/2" wide pieces
1/2 strip of bacon
Cream cheese
Sugar Twin or brown sugar (We use Sugar Twin to keep this a low carb treat)
Rub (optional)
Toothpicks
A cookie sheet sprayed with some Pam.

Cut some pieces about 1/2" wide and wrap with a half a piece of bacon leaving some room at the top for the other ingredients. Pin with a toothpick. Will kinda look like a shot glass when done.

Add some cream cheese to each shot glass.

Then add some Sugar Twin or brown sugar on top of the cheese. If you want, you can also sprinkle on some of your favorite rub.

Place them into a cooker , grill, or smoker and cook them until the bacon gets done to your liking. I do them at 350 degrees and it takes about an hour. Probably take up to two hours in a smoker at 250 degrees.

Good Stuff!

Better make a few as these things are good!

Dang, that is a great idea.

Even leave them empty, and the guests can fill the 'shot' with some pulled pork and a bit of slaw/sauce!   Or tater tots..

You could give Old Dave  a tire that's been sitting at the bottom of a pond for a year and he'll come up with a recipe to make it something you'd serve to you best buddies.  Dee

That is a true statement Dee!

I am thinking about the Super Bowl party menu for this year....and several variations of these for apps/snacks.....

Like a plop of strawberry - rhubarb preserves and minced fresh jalapeno on top of the cream cheese.

or some fig preserves with lightly salted, toasted almond slivers

or just a honey-bourbon finishing sauce drizzled over the cream cheese, and a few chili pepper flakes for good measure

Or..chopped up pig candy and Tommy's bourbon sauce with peaches and jalapenos over the cream cheese.
