Thats a neat lookin Smokin machine. They do recommend foiling the drip tray, I read that in 4 different spots on their website. Hows that interior light workin out?

Your bags of Kingsford are giving your grill the stink eye.

I just don't have the heart to part with my Kingsford...even though they were a causality of the great charcoal revolt of 2012, I will not get rid of them yet..........until I have Eric order me a skid of pellets  ;D :D

and I do line the drip pan with  HD foil in the Yoder and the Rec Tec...it does make cleaning easier..........

I will give you some time but you will eventually stop lining the pans with foil ;)

and the reason for no foil?

I am the first to admit I am a pellet newb..but to remove a greasy pc of foil and to have a clean drip pan just makes sense to me...what am I missing here......

help me Muebe won Konobi.....help me to understand things over here on the dark side  ;) :)

I stopped using foil cause I always end up getting grease under the dam foil anyways. :)

I am grill envious. The Rec Tec trailer at the Fall Retreat hosted by the folks at that 'other forum' was the first time I'd seen or had any experience with them.  It was excellent and this cook reinforces that opinion. I gotta see if I can rep that cooker out here on the Left Coast!  8)

That's a beautiful Turkey!!

Everyone to their own ... I've been foiling my MAK 2 Star since day 2!  :D  On day 1 my grease pan got too filthy.  When smoking/cooking I want the product to excel, not get a taste from the burnt residue left on the pan  ;)  I vacuum my MAK and Traeger PTG before every cook too  :D 8)  HD foil is a lot cheaper than meat ...

Great lookin' bird, smokeasuar  ;D

Sorry, but I can't resist jumping into the foil/no foil fray:  I've foiled both of my pellet machines since day two also.  Yes, some grease sometimes gets under it but I don't care.  Stripping off the old foil and putting on new takes me maybe a minute.  Scraping burned on crud takes a lot longer and makes a mess.

That RecTec is a great grill.  Last week, IR2Dum, and I were over at the RecTec company HQ'd here in Augusta and talked with Ray the owner about a number of things. He plans on letting us use the trailer with the four grills on it again at this year's Gathering.  He says he is shipping about 50 a month to TX.  Don, IR2Dum, is planning on getting one shipped to his home in Houston. Ray showed us one of the grills that came loose and fell off the trailer going down the road and there is just a little scrap on it...very tough, heavy duty piece of equipment.  I asked him if he had apple pellets and he told me they ran a blind taste test with apple, maple, and cherry.  He said that he has a very sensative and discrimminating palate (I seriously doubt if it's in the same league as Tim's...as if anyone's is.) and he could tell very, very little difference in maple vs the others so they carry only maple as their fruit wood.  Of course, they do have other hardwood pellets.  You can go to their website, RecTecGrills.com, and check them out on YouTube...rectec...to really get a good feel for this cooker.  Very impressive.

I really liked the Rec-Tec that I used in GA.      Seems to be built like a tank and I love he double hopper design.

If Kimmie would let me I'd have one

If you do the 24 month same as cash your payments would be around 50 bucks a month with nothing out of pocket up front..that's what I did......run it past her Tommy and make your eyes get all watery when you ask her... ;)

That is a great deal! I did 12 months same-as-cash on my Memphis. Makes the deal easier with the CFO ;)
