Philly Suburbs in the house!
« Reply #-1 on: August 05, 2014, 01:36:11 PM »
I am pumped to be joining family here. Young buck with a lot to learn, but loving the BBQ life.

I have a smoke hallow combo (weak I know) grill, and old Weber kettle where I got my start.  I am looking to upgrade with a modestly priced unit.  Wife (well soon to be) isn't happy I added a smoker to our registry but she enjoys my chicken and ribs.

Any suggestions on models are greatly appreciated!

Greetings from Las Vegas.  ;)

I would hang on to that Weber kettle and start looking into pellet grills as an addition to your outdoor kitchen.

Welcome!

Sounds like you may want to consider al forms of "smokers"? We have a lot of variety here in the types that our members use. And - You might want to loo over Hub's thread section called "Burn it in the Backyard". He even has some great info on pellet cookers in there.

Good to have you here!

Welcome from a D@mn Yankee from South Philly.  (20th & Passyunk)  Walking distance from Nick's Roast Beef.  (Really miss that place.)

There's lots of great options, so you might want to take breathe before jumping onto a new cooker.

I do agree that you need to hang onto that Weber.  It's my go to, not only for grilling but for smoking for the family and other smaller events.

Welcome from NC.  With a good clean up and new grates, that Weber still has a lot of life left in it.  Check out some of Sparky's posts using one of his many Webers to cook his fantastic ribs.  There are ways to make that old Weber one of the more versatile by charcoal placement and management.
