Okay, I'll play ...

I treat them similarly  to brats ... simmered (not boiled) in slightly salted water and then lightly pan fried in a skillet or under a the broiler unless I crank up the grill.  The get some color/texture but no burn marks.  Boar's Head Beef Franks with the natural casings are six kinds of awesome.  Garnish with homemade chili, deli mustard, and some crumbled bacon and I'm a happy carnivore.  Steamed buns are my favorite way to go ...

Serve with iced sweet tea or a cold beer, some German potato salad or fries with malt vinegar and call it a day.

I like them on the pellet grill. If weather is crappy, the air fryer does a great job.

Store bought. Hebrew National.

If we were back in So-Cal.......Costco All Beef.

Finally diced yellow onion and yellow mustard.

I can usually chuck down around 4 or 5 .

I like them anyway I can cook them, but one of my favorite way is to split them in half and pan sear them on a HOT cast iron skillet.    If you push on them a little they even squeal   ??? ??? ???

It was my Pops that did the wonder bread sammies with hot dogs.

He also liked iceberg lettuce and peanut butter sandwiches.  They were actually really good.

Best store bought : Nathan's and sabberrettes ( tied )
Best way to cook : saberett- boiled , Nathan's on flat top griddle
Best hot dog joint : rutts hutt in Clifton nj, close second is holy dog Middletown ny
Best drink to go with dog: coke

My favorite homemade is to pan fry a Nathan's and top with a line each of ketchup, mustard, and mayo. Than on top of that put finely chopped cabbage and onions and broken up potato chips.

Oh and the dogs gotta be natural casing or forget it

Tailgate is my game,
If I'm in New England I would put lobster meat and a hint of mayo on a New England style bun and forget about the hotdog .

Well, I start with a preventative antacid, then a Nathan's quarter pound beef dog, Steamed in dark beer, on a steamed bun (smeared with salsa con queso), a line of CYM and ketchup, and just a touch of tomato & pepper relish. I'll eat two of those, or three if I'm really hungry, along with canned pork & beans, potato chips, and three Modelo Especials (or Dos Equis, which ever I have the coldest  :D :D :D).
