SRG stew
« Reply #-1 on: July 25, 2017, 11:07:44 AM »
It has been a while since I last made this, so I was looking forward to having it.

2 lbs. ground beef, crumbled.
2 lbs. potatoes, cut to 1 in. cubes.
1 lb. carrots, sliced.
2 lbs. okra, sliced.
28 oz. can stewed tomatoes & juice.

Ground beef in bottom of Dutch oven, everything else on top.
Lawry's & pepper to taste.

Into the SRG, uncovered, with smoke, medium heat, for 1 hour.
Stir the veggies, cover, & cook for 1 1/2 hours.

Plated with corn bread & a big glass of iced tea

It looks better in the pot than on the plate, but trust me, if you make this you will like it.

It makes a great meal in the middle of winter, but I had some potatoes I needed to use before they went south. :D :D
I'm sure it would be good made in the pressure cooker also, but I wanted smoke.

Looks really good. I assume you had unsweetened tea, as sweet tea is the work of the devil. ;)
