Remote Boss external power?
« Reply #-1 on: December 23, 2017, 05:30:40 PM »
On long cooks, the handheld Remote Boss unit is kind of a battery eater. Any way to power it externally? It has a mini USB on one side, and a mini RCA or some such on the other. It would be nice to plug it in and skip the batteries.

I don't have an answer, but I hope you get one.  I have the same problem with my Remote Boss.

Just heard back from Bruce at MAK with good news. You can indeed power the Remote Boss via the mini USB pot on the left side of the handheld. Nice to have a backup if out of batteries, or as Bruce suggested, get a set of rechargeable AA's and go that route. When cooking, I generally have the Remote Boss in the kitchen, so I'll more than likely just have mine plugged into a USP port.
