Another use for the Vortex
« Reply #-1 on: April 17, 2017, 06:00:22 PM »
The grates on my Good One Open Range badly needed cleaning as the gunk had built up over time.
Filled the Vortex with some already used lump and briquettes and let it get screaming hot.
Slowly passed both sides of the grates over the hot heat and in a short period it had burned everything off.
One additional thing I learned....wear long heat resistant gloves or you will cook your forearms.  :o

Thankfully that wasn't me.  :)

Pappy says he loves the smell of burnt hair. He would have been happy with the smell of my singed hair.  :D
