Cubanos could be my alltime favorite sandwich.  Now I'm going to have make some for myself!  Do you have a favorite recipe you use or is it a premixed concoction?

All I did really for the pork was inject and marinate the butt in mojo for two days. Then just a simple "Cuban" rub I found online that was cumin heavy. It was an 8lb butt.

For the mustard, I wanted something a little different so I used this recipe for yellow mustard bbq sauce from amazing ribs. It still had the yellow mustard flavor with a few "enhancements"

http://amazingribs.com/recipes/BBQ_sauces/south_carolina_mustard_BBQ_sauce.html

Other than that, it was deli sliced sweet ham and swiss cheese and cuban bread from the bakery and the pickles were Claussen

I remember how good it tasted when I made it. Looking at your tasty looking pictures makes me want to make it again. Thanks.

Beautiful!

Saw your post before lunch.  Went to a shop here in Austin and ordered the Cubano.  It was good but I would bet not as good as what you made.

I haven't had a cuban forever.

Time to use some of the leftover pulled pork & ham in the freezer.

I highly suggest giving that mustard / bbq sauce a shot for these, it's something a little different while still keeping that yellow mustard profile for a cuban sandwich
