Introduction from Memphis, TN!!
« Reply #-1 on: July 29, 2017, 07:14:15 PM »
Hello everyone!  I have had a Weber gas grill for several years and decided to try charcoal about a year ago. Man, I didn't know what I was missing. To me and my family, the charcoal produced better tasting food. This then lead me to look into other options which is what lead me here. Smokes reviews are what brought me here initially. Looking forward to discussing BBQ and learning more.

Welcome!

We hope you feel comfortable contributing and asking any questions. You will find a LOT of experienced folks here - and none of the "expert attitude" - tho many are easily regarded as such - just no ego tripping allowed :D. We are here to relax, enjoy - make friends and trade ideas/recipes and...even some corny jokes. We are a community. Not merely a sterile discussion forum...so welcome, neighbor. :)

Wow!  What a great response to my introduction!

Thanks so much!!

My first order of business is to decide which pellet grill I should get.  For my first grill, I have decided to try either the Pitt Boss 700 or the Camp Chef SmokePro SE from Walmart.  I'm able to get them both at the same price so trying to decide which one would be a better first choice for me.  I know there are much better pellet grills out there, but these fit my budget and seem like a good start to see if I want to pursue it further with a higher quality grill later on.

Again, thanks so much for kind welcome!  :)

Here's another North Carolina welcome  ;D

It isn't what kind of pellet cooker you have, it's how well you use it  :o

Thanks Hub for the links to your great posts!  I don't know what to expect really, but I'm a bit surprised that pellet smokers don't provide a strong smokey flavor.  Very informative!!

So basically, pick one and go with it since they are the same price.  After that, it's up to me to learn how to use it.
