PBC rookie
« Reply #-1 on: August 27, 2016, 07:56:32 PM »
I'm kind of a  PBC rookie,  just got mine a few  months ago.

So far  have been pretty  happy with the results on my 6 or 7 cooks.

I had looked around online  for PBC forums but  most had  little to  no activity.   This one looks to be different   looking forward to  learning new tips and sharing new ideas.

Here's some  of my cooks  so far...

First off  had to try  some  pork back ribs  (doesn't everybody? )

They came out pretty well   but left  them on a  bit too long.

Next I did a Tri tip  it was cooked  perfectly   but  wish I would have cracked the lid the last 15 min or so  to get a better crust  on it.

Next was  a full load of ribs for a party.  Very happy with how they came out,  but learned  how  much to try to get  racks of similar size and weight  so they  finish around the same time.

One of my only  disappointments was  a pork butt,  took  f o r e v e r to hit  165  and even longer to  reach just 190  finally pulled it as  we were  hungry,  I think  I didnt get a good start  with it and it just never really got hot.

Finally  I took the plunge and got a 12lb brisket.   It came out AWESOME!  Only 5.5 hours   after the pulled pork  delay  I started early  and  of course  it was  done way before everybody was due to arrive.  It was wrapped in towels and put in a cooler for just over 6 hrs before we were ready to eat, luckily  it was still steaming hot.   Soooo juicy and tender.

Have also made a few chickens  which have been  quite tasty.

Right now  I have  2 turkey breasts hanging.

So far  im  loving my  PBC!!!
