Title: Weber Indirect Setup for Jaxon
Post by: RAD on October 30, 2014, 03:23:39 PM
Jaxon asked me to take pics the next time I do an indirect low and slow on my weber. We are doing an office potluck this Friday and I said I might do ribs. One of my office mates pulled out a $20 and said he would pay for half if I did the ribs. Luck would have it I had an appointment today and knew I would have time to do ribs for tomorrow.

Jax, if you have any questions please let me know. And remember, I learned everything I know about cooking on this thing from someone on this site. A little here and there.

Perfect set-up. The one basket will keep the kettle around 250. I only use two when I do chicken and want crispy skin.

VERY NICE!

Great pics RAD - thanks for that post. I think we need this in the tips and trick also if you don't mind posting it there as well. I am going to make it a sticky in this thread section. It will be a great reference for  folks learning their Weber kettles.

I love the idea of the foiled bricks. I am going to have to try that.

Tee, I would more than happy to re-post in tips and tricks but I don't want to take credit for this. I've learned from the great members on LTBBQ.

Gracious of you RAD to remember where you learned it ;). So, even more appreciation for you posting it! We all learn - and sometimes re-learn :D - from one another. That is the strength of a good community huh?

Anything special about the bricks? As in what kind to use?

Keeps them clean

No, but I've read here that you should be using high heat stones but I've never had an issue using basic bricks.

Fire brick is what you want to use around any type of fire. Most other bricks have a bit of moisture inside. When the moisture "boils" it expands and the brick can explode! Can be rather dangerous!
