1ST Pork Butt on it
« Reply #-1 on: October 13, 2014, 07:03:54 AM »
I’ve been using my new Weber a lot and haven’t had a bad cook on it yet. Ribs are some of the best I’ve ever made. No foil, no sauce, no fuss. So I decided to give a butt a try.

I haven’t done a butt in a while so I made it simple, rub and molasses

Rest while I get the grill ready

Eight bricks getting hot

Setup for indirect cooking with some water in the pan.

 See you in several hours.

Pic is at about 6 hours in and for the last two hours it has been sitting steady at 158. Hitting the stall. I am going to let it cook through the stall. This is starting to take on a great color and I stole a piece from the top, yummy mmm

I've often said if I could only own one grill/smoker it would be a 22.5" Weber Kettle.

Well, the stall bet me. After about three hours we went and foiled it. I pulled it at 180, sooner then I would have liked but it is starting to get nasty outside. I let rest FTC for about an hour. Most of it was ready for being pulled but I decided to chop it. Added some slaw and a couple of pickles and this was outstanding.

Photo bucket is acting up so direct post.
