Corn on the cob
« Reply #-1 on: July 29, 2012, 10:47:08 AM »
Never made corn on the cob outside of in a boiling pot of water. Want to Make some today on #1,000. Unfortunately corn on the cob is one of the few things I cook based on time, as I really don't know how to know when it is done right.

I like a bit of char on it like I get at the state fair.

Looking for some help on technique, temp of grill, and time.

I see reference to corn all over the forum, but I guess the newbie needs a bit more detail.

Thanks
Pappy

Lots of good ways , give you some options.
Husk on, if husks are fresh I just put on grill high heat till bottom husk charred & rotate till mostly charred completely around. If husk dry let soak in water 30 min before on grill.
Let sit for 15 min, serve with butter & salt.
Husk on peal back husk season with butter & salt , recover with husk & grill usually a little lower heat & not so charred.
Shuck corn wrap in foil with butter & seasoning & grill .
Shuck corn coat with canola oil ( spray with Pam) & sear over high heat turning so kernels slightly char but don't burn. Then season.
