Processing a Hubbard Squash
« Reply #-1 on: November 22, 2015, 07:09:56 PM »
This was the Hubbard squash that my neighbor gave us.

Cut in half, that will burn 1000 calories. These things have a nutshell that would stop a crowbar.

Cleaned out

Quartered and baked in the oven at 375 degrees for 1.5 hours

Scooped

In the Bowl

Half way done in the foodsaver bags, reminds me of MRE's.

Sorry I haven't been around much but work has me busy.

So, how does it taste? Looks like a butternut on steroids, do like the veggies!

Looks good KM!!! TFS, my neighbor had one last year. The hard shell on spaghetti squash is a pain to get through too and a wonder I haven't cut myself. Don

don't know how you get them bags so clean. I would have squash all over the place.
Love to cook and eat

When I do gooey stuff I fold the top down a inch and a half that way you at least down have food in the sealed area of the bag. You all probably already do that :)
