Picnic and a Cabin
« Reply #-1 on: December 05, 2015, 09:18:16 PM »
Went to Staters and they had Farmer Johns Picnics for .89 a lb........a 10 lber found its way into my shopping cart  8)

Trimmed it down and rubbed er in mustard. Used Gary's Seasoning and a 21 spice organic salt free concoction from Costco....into the #3 at 9 pm at 160...apple chunk for smokey smokey

Got up in the morning and bumped up the temp to 250 and back to the home inspection (selling our pad..more about this later)
Pulled at 192 internal and foiled and rested for two hours

The bones came out clean and the pulling was easy

Used Kinders mild BBQ sauce..the first of four sammies

Now about selling. No, I aint going to be a flatlander again. The hospital wants Wendy closer to work because she is on-call. We found a real nice cabin that will cut our drive in half. Built in 1930...great condition and rustic....I can almost feel my beard growing when I am in the cabin....the elevation is much higher, more snow and fog....pics late next month....back to signing escrow docs..... 8)

I've never smoked a picnic...never even thought about it.  I thought they were for the oven.

Looks like you nailed that one - or did you just hammer it?

Not one ounce of paint in the entire place Pappy. Walls and ceilings throughout tongue and groove knotty pine. Outside house and two decks stained. Cabinets are all knotty pine as well. Will get some pics once Wendy gets it turned into a home  :)
