A Couple of Pork Steaks on the PK
« Reply #-1 on: August 21, 2016, 02:07:09 PM »
Found a couple of pork steaks in the freezer Friday and pulled to thaw for Saturday night. Wetted the steaks with a bit of EVOO and generously applied a rub called Mohunka which is the brainwork of a friend/member here. It's a rub I've been wanting to use for awhile but life has been taking twists and turns lately! Anyway,  I was anxious to use it as it has a nice sweet full bodied taste! Great for pork! Got the PK and GG's heated up using Kroger's Simply Organic hardwood lump. A great buy by the way!
Tossed a handful of Milt's Rosemary Apricot pellets and put the steaks on the little-more grid to bask in the smoke for awhile. Then seared on GG'S until done. Served with pasta and Sunday gravy, and a salad. A fine meal, and the Mohunka rub was great with a nice sweet flavor! Thank you friend!!!
Can't wait to try on some butts!

Love a pork steak. I actually find that I crave well prepared pork over any other protein.

What is Sunday gravy?

Pappy Sunday gravy is an Italian  pasta meat sauce that was traditionally made  on Sundays for family gatherings. It was a twice a month thing at our house growing up.Contains usually meatballs, short ribs, and sausage, but whatever is on hand prevails! I made this in pc.
