A tiny mod, and pre-cook procedure for our Grid Iron
« Reply #-1 on: September 14, 2016, 04:21:25 PM »
I really like how easy it is on the Grid Iron to dump the ash from a previous cooking session.

What could make it even easier?
Attaching a rare earth magnet to the knob, so that I don't have to hold it, or find a place to put it down during ash removal.

For your entertainment, this very short video shows our process.

Clever Idea.  I think I will do that with the knob on my Grand Slam.  Thanks!

Great mod!  I only have had one pellet grill the Rec Tec Mini, the fan blows almost all the ashes out of the fire pot so there really isn't any cleaning involved except for the the rest of the grill! Fire Pot usually has just  pellets in it.   :)
