when you cooked those sirloins, did you close the lid? If so, how long did you cook with the lid up and with the lid down on the G2GICE

Lid down 15 mins to pre-heat GrillGrate toss 1st steak on lid down  and cook for 10 mins first side then flip.  Wife likes her steaks ruined  :P

Toss my steak on lid down  for a few mins then flip lid back down til mine is done (wife's still on)  ??? lid down for a few more mins then pull hers off

I rarely cook lid open on any coke to be honest

so tonight I made a really good strip steak ... here's what I did differently:

1) Jaccarded the steak and marinated in a baking dish with a little bit of vegetable oil, soy sauce, and Montreal Seasoning (McCormicks) for about 6 hours in the fridge
2) Preheated the Grill2Go-ICE for about 15 minutes
3) about 5 minutes before placing on the grill I very lightly sprinkled some Adolph's unseasoned meat tenderizer.  When I say a little, I mean just a very small application, not enough to cover the steak (on one side only)
4) It's about 40* out there, so I cooked on HIGH for about 6-7 minutes per side with the lid closed on the G2G

I thought it might come out too salty, but it didn't, and was very very tender and tasty.  And it didn't have that mushy texture that sometimes you get with a powdered tenderizer.

I've never used the Montreal Seasoning before, but it was very nice.

I usually use CHAR CRUST ORIGINAL HICKORY GRILL and next time I will add some in to see how they go together.
