My Wife is definitely feeling better!
« Reply #-1 on: October 20, 2017, 02:35:21 PM »
She told me at the beginning of the week that she WAS going to smoke something this weekend. She told me again Wednesday and again yesterday. So I figured she must be serious :) I went out to the freezer and yelled into the house asking what she wanted me to pull out of the deep freeze.

Her response? "One of the briskets, a rack of baby backs, a Boston butt and a whole chicken". She's making up for lost time! I will cut some wood up for the KBQ tomorrow and she is going to wake up at the butt crack of dawn I guess to start smoking! I guess there is something to "Smoke Therapy" after all :)

I'll post pics when the action starts, stay tuned, lol.

So, is she on the KCBS Therapy Schedule?

If so, there will 30 minutes before each turn in . . . .

Huh...I guess Georgia "smoke therapy" is different from Colorado smoke therapy.......?

Indeed Tee, much different, lol. Jack knows what I am talking about! I just realized something. Although she is getting up early tomorrow to smoke everything, I am still going to be the one to clean the smoker, trim the brisket, pull the membrane off the ribs, rub everything, put it on grates and take them down to the KBQ. She can't lift anything over 5 pounds! So....I guess I too will be getting up early :(

Hey, at least I can go back to bed! :P

She can be "queen for a day" and you can be her sous chef..

Don't you love it when you can cook together?

Yes indeed! I am blessed to have a wife that shares so many interests with me. She likes to cook out (for you North of the Mason Dixon line that means BBQ, lol), motorcycles, football, cars, boating and fishing, camping, guns and even likes to drink beer on occasion! I don't think I could've done much better.

The brisket and butt are in the KBQ sauna, been there for about 3 hours now or close to it. I have the chicken brining and will put it on later today. I am about to get the ribs prepped and rubbed. They'll go on in a few hours. That's what I love about the KBQ, it can hold quite a bit of food. Some don't like that it's a cabinet, I don't mind. I know it's easier to have everything on one grate but I'd need a big old smoker to hold that much on one grate.

I'll post some pics when it's chow time :)

We both drink very little. Sometimes I can buy a 6 pack and it can last weeks. Sometimes I will drink 2-3 at a time.
