Barbacoa

So, Wendy's oldest daughter and husband is staying at our place until they get their rental house here on the mountain. Last night we took a choice chuckie and seasoned it in garlic and chili seasoning along with some onion and cilantro for good measure.

Jordan had a new Masterbuilt smoker he got off of QVC and asked me to fire it up and show him the ropes. So here it is in the MES for a long ride at 225

I foiled it at 180 internal (I have bad luck with chuckies) and pulled it at 195 and took the MES down to 140 for a one hour hold and got this

That darn chuckie pulled like butter

Wendy made some homemade gringo salsa ( not too hot ) and we got our tacos on

I was very impressed how the MES worked. It even has a built in food temperature probe and a nifty tube to add wood chips so you don't have to open the door. I have never paid too much attention to Masterbuilt but they make a solid electric smoker...... 8)

I've had a Masterbilt for years and love it.  I convinced my younger brother to get one and he thinks it is the  greatest thing going also. They bought it from either QVC or HSN and whichever it was has great customer care and service...most likely both of the do.

The thing about the MB is it is great for people who are lazy like me who do want to bother with the stickburners.  Ain't it great that we have so many different options to produce great food?

I have a masterbilt with cold smoker attachment that travels with me in motorhome. Also have a Bradley digital original (not modified) with cold smoker that stays home. Love them both.
