Finally Tri Tip
« Reply #-1 on: June 21, 2013, 11:27:20 PM »
My local butcher finally is getting tritip! If you mention tritip in the Midwest people look at you sideways.
All I  can say is beefy beefy taste and juicy.  I marinated it for about 3 hours in half cup soy and quarter cup worsheshire. Smoked at 180 until center hit 150, pulled and sliced thin.
Pictures soon as I figurer out how to do with tablet!

You can also get the tapatalk app. It's what I use exclusively. Point, shoot and upload. No messing with photobucket or any other sites that you have to upload to them and then get the pics from there to upload to forums. Just my two cents. I do it all from my phone. This one

There is an add on that I also got thru the app that let's you upload unlimited photos.

I finally saw one for the first time yesterday at a small butcher shop here in town. I purchased one that was a little over two pounds. It was 5.79 per pound. Is that a typical price?

That is going to be the next thing I smoke after today's ribs.

Good Price Ed. Luckily here in the Golden State, I can usually get em for 3.99 a lb and Wal-Mart Neighborhood Store has em for 2.75 untrimmed....and they are the full cut.............when Ralphs has em on sale for 1.99, it is time to stock up the freezer  :)
