Road Trip/Hunting Trip to New Mexico
« Reply #-1 on: November 05, 2016, 10:18:31 AM »
Tim and I leave Sunday to start our trek west to go cow elk hunting in Clayton, NM.  First scheduled stop is dinner at the Loveless Cafe in Nashville.  We will spend the night in Jackson, TN.  The second day has us stopping in Van Buren, AR for the night.  We will probably stop at a catfish restaurant along the way, since Arkansas is known for their farm raised catfish.  The next day we stop in Oklahoma City, OK.  We will be there early enough to go visit the Cowboy Museum.  I visit this museum every time I go to OKC.  For dinner we are putting on our stretchy pants.  We are going to the Cattlemen's Steakhouse.  We may have to split an order of their world famous lamb fries. And, steaks, of course, will be ordered.

On Wednesday we drive to Amarillo, TX.  We have two more hunters to pick up at the Amarillo Airport.  Lost Arrow (John Ford) and my son Christopher.  Since we are spending the night in Amarillo (my son does not arrive until 10:40 that night), and John arrives around mid-day we are hoping to go visit the Palo Duro Canyon after we pick him up.

We will provide periodic updates as we travel.  Posting pictures on the road has not gone well for me.  They will probably be as part of a post-trip wrap up.
