I tried a Root Beer today!
« Reply #-1 on: June 24, 2015, 09:55:20 PM »
I saw this at Sandman's and just had to give it a try; Not Your Father's Root Beer. I don't drink much pop, soda, but once in a great while will have a coke or a root beer. At 5.4% this does not taste like a beer; it tastes like root beer soda but to me it leaves an unpleasant spice after taste. Smokin Don

The best root beer I have taste thus far is called Uncle Scott's root beer. No alcohol in it - but the flavor is amazing.

I like good old fashioned (crafted) root beer.  I haven't had any with alcohol in it, however.  I'd like to give that a try sometime.

Well, as of this evening I have had a bottle of the Not Your Father's Root Beer.  We had dinner at a new place in our little burb.  They actually had this on the menu.  I thought it was really good.  One of their specialties tonight was a root beer float using this root beer.  I opted for the straight root beer.  I'd order it again.  I'll even look for it and try to buy some.

Thanks for posting, Don.  If you hadn't posted about that root beer, I never would have noticed it on the menu.

My sister, who's never met a beer that she liked, says that she will drink this because it tastes exactly like regular root beer.

Ok, I climbed on the root beer wagon... Found it at Piggly Wiggly . There's a second brand as well but I'll have to wait to try that one.
