Only got one to judge... my GMG Davy Crockett.  I like it plenty though.

I have no means of comparison either, and I have only had my Rec Tec for a little over a month but you would have to kill me to get it away from me. I love that thing!

My heart belongs to the traeger. I believe the size up from the junior holds better temps and can be modded better but wouldn't trade it for nothing.

I know that y'all are gonna laugh, but I like what I got. It came from Academic Sports, cost me $159 on sale, and it is supposed to be a Traeger clone but it's size and electronics are completely different from any Traeger. Since it had been discontinued, I searched every Academy store in America and the last grill was located in Baton Rouge, LA where I bought it. I had one located in College Station, TX but TXpops (Mike) beat me to it and bought it before I could get there. The brand is Outdoor Gourmet. First thing I did when I got it was to junk the Chinese electronics and install an Auberins PID (with help from muebe) for about 50 bucks. It now keeps its temperature within plus or minus 3 degrees and just keeps on going from low smoke mode to screaming at 525. It is great on pellet consumption and will go all night without supervision. It also works pretty good at grilling a steak with GrillGrates without having to take it apart to get the high heat. I've cooked a few times on a RecTec, and watched others cook on Memphis, Mak, GMG, and Traeger and I still prefer my cheap pellet pooper.

I love both of my pellet machines and use them for what they do best.  There are a bunch of other good ones, too.  Honestly, if I had the money I probably wouldn't buy anything different.

Out of all the cookers we have, not one of 'em is a pellet cooker, but it is my favorite.

I have used Traeger, Rec-Tec, Yoder and a MAC

Loved the MAC but $$$$ for me even though I did get a Rec-Tec which was $$$ but I get the hang of Rec-Tec at the cookout and felt it was the best bang for the buck

The Traeger was good but since I have a Traeger hopper for my home built pellet pooper I have had to replace the control board two times in a year :(

The Yoder  worked well just way too heavy for me to move a round and the cost was up there as well

So the Rec-Tec got my $$$  and I have not regretted it one bit   ;)

When I got my Traeger there were not many to choose from. I love it and do a lot of cooking on it. I saw Cliff cook on his Mak 1 star at the Ohio gathering and was impressed with it. Don

My favorite is my Blazn Grill Works Grid Iron.  I used to have a Traeger junior and it was great for what I bought it for.
I say used to have as my youngest son in Florida sorta "adopted" it!  ;) I have also cooked on the Rec Tec and probably
my next purchase will be a Rec Tec Mini.
