The Slow 'N Sear isn't available for the 18" kettle... yet.  Curious how much interest there would be in an SnS this size?

If you do consider making one for the 18" Weber, be sure to include the Weber Jumbo Joe which is their 18" tailgating type of cooker and you would need to reduce the height of the Slow 'N Sear just a little to make it work in that cooker as well. Probably more of them sold than the standard Weber 18" cooker.

TBD - What are your thoughts?  The more variations the higher the retail price.  If we make one size, it would fit the JJ 18" flush to the grill grate, then need a spacer to fit flush to the 18" kettle grill grate.  Spacers are cheap.  It'd still hold a lot of charcoal.

What we're working on here is a cheaper, lighter design by the way.  Makes it more portable and cheaper to manufacture.  We just can't see someone wanting a $90 SnS for a $70 JJ.

My little griddle is cheaper the some of the others in their line but still does a great job. So one size that handles both would be fine as long as the performance does not suffer......So the larger 18 would need an option that the SJ would not????

Ah, that was an SJ that Old Dave posted?  I didn't realize that.  We're not planning on one for the SJ, but we do have something in the works for the JJ 18" and 18" Kettle Original.

The kettle in the picture is the newer (2013 and up) Weber Jumbo Joe. It is an 18"kettle and different than the older Smoky Joe version of the 18 inch kettle.

http://weberkettleclub.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/JJ-compare-1.jpg

The kettle on the left is the older (1990 to 2006) version of the 18" Smokey Joe which would't work very well with the Slow 'N Sear due to the intake air vents which are on the side of the kettle and up high near the lid.

The kettle on the right is the newer 18" Weber Jumbo Joe (2013 and newer)) and is different as the air intake is on the bottom of the kettle. They also measure different than the older units.

You can find out more about this great little 18" kettle with the history and options on my site:

That's a great article!  One of the SnS variants we're working on is intended for the new Weber Jumbo Joe 18".  I've done low and slow and hot and fast cooking with it with great results.

It also has made a tri oreverse sear Filet Mignons that brought tears to my guest's eyes.  It's a really nifty accessory for the JJ.  I just hope there are enough out there we break even!  lol
