Breaded steak but using coconut flour
« Reply #-1 on: February 09, 2017, 12:55:44 PM »
Not sure how this  will turn out and really looking forward to cooking these so y'all are going to find out when I find out and I will                            post out either way  ;)

I'm cooking cube steak with coconut flour and Parmesan cheese. Since being on a low carb diet I need to use as few carbs as possible and talking to Tenthunter (Cliff) this seems to be a viable flour to use since it is very low in carbs

The steak is dipped in egg then powdered in the mix then in fridge to set for 30 mins before I fry it.

Mix is.....

4  Tbs coconut flour
2  Tbs Parmesan
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp black pepper

Stay tuned, more in a little while  :D :D :D  Good or bad    ::) ::) ::)

Here they are all fried and ready to eat!   These are very good and I'm very surprised how good this turned out

Texture is a bit different than bread crumbs but you can't beat this..

Only thing I will change at this point is using 1/2 tsp sea salt vs 1/4 tsp sea salt other than that no changes for me! :D :D :D

We have it figured out it's about 2 carbs or less per slice of meat

coconut flour is nut flour.  Fine ground nuts always low in carbs.

Tommy, they look great!

We've been talking about these since Tammy and I did some last week with a combo of coconut & almond flour (I should've taken pics and posted). They were pretty tasty!  We had to kick the salt up just a tad as well.

My next step is to come up with a low-carb (no starch, no flour) gravy to go with 'em!

Did shrimp tonight with it    Really like this stuff!

Same mix as the steak, next time going to leave the cheese out and add Splenda while cooling so I can try a coconut type shrimp

All you need with those cube steaks is a big bowl of GRAVY!  Wait, that won't work with your diet.  Never mind!!
