First Griddle Cook
« Reply #-1 on: October 19, 2014, 12:16:27 PM »
The First cook was simple. Breakfast, hash browns with onions & yellow bell pepper, sausage, few cottage fries & over easy eggs.
The griddle was preseasoned & fits perfectly on the camp cooker.
It has a couple heat diffusers to fit over burners & heated very evenly.
Only thing that stuck were hash browns in a couple places.
For cleaning just scraped & wiped with a couple paper towels.

Hope you saved me some LA  :P :P :P :P :P  That was a good looking breakfast feast.  I use peanut oil in a squirt bottle when I use my griddle. Considering this was the first cook, you got off lite with minimal stickage. As ya know it will get better as it seasons more. When I fry cooked we never used pumice stones or any type of cleaner on our flat grill. This way we never had food stick and the flavor of the food was so much better.

Let me know if ya need some more grease holders emptied  ;) ;)

Everybody should have a flat griddle. They are affordable and will last a long long time. Camp Chef and Blackstone make excellent griddles. I use mine for burgers, steaks, all kinds of skillet concoctions and they are great for doing a bunch of flap jacks at the same time. I have even grilled chicken pcs on mine. Just set a foil pan over the chicken to capture the steam and heat and flip occasionally (old fry cook trick).

Special thanks to Lost Arrow for bringing this fun type of cooking to the fore front.

Excellent cook! I have seen people use a wide metal painting spatula on a flat top with great success too.

Lodge makes a good one too, which is quite economical considering it will outlast us all - fits both the indoor gas range and the outdoor cooker
