"Will It Sous Vide?" - Onions
« Reply #-1 on: August 29, 2016, 10:31:18 AM »
Hi all!

We ran across a neat idea from LifeHacker Australia that I thought you all would appreciate.  This blog is asking - Will It Sous Vide? The first test subject is onions and answers whether it is possible to caramelize onions using sous vide methods.  The results are...varied.  Though, if you enjoy making an onion jam or something like that to put on burgers, this may work out for you.

Check it out!  And if you have any food items you have a desire to know if it "will sous vide" let them know and we will all benefit from the shared knowledge :-)

Great experiment to try. I can se that a dish which onions a re key part of - may benefit from this. Like almost anything that can be cooked via Sous Vide!
