That does look good.  I may have to add one to my "collection".

That's a heck of a nice looking pan.  I wonder if they plan to expand their line and add more products?

A few other companies are poping up with new cast iron. Great trend I think

The finely polished interior will make a huge difference it the "non-stick" properties. I think the only knock I have on Lodge - is that they do not have a good, smooth finish on the cooking surface of the pan. It takes quite some time to get that surface worn/filled/"seasoned" enough to be really a non-stick like surface.
If you look at any of the old Griswald brand cast iron - you will see what a nice smooth interior their cast iron had.

Many of the improvements, lighter weight, smooth interior, better non stick can be found on a good carbon steel pan!

We use old vintage cast iron a lot. What we use all the time belonged to my wife's grandmother and is over 100 years old. All as smooth as a babies bottom. We also collected cast iron for years but have been selling some, I am down to about 100 or so now. You can't go wrong with old Griswold or Wagner Ware or any old piece you find simply "USA". Lodge marked all their old stuff jus USA and it is much more finely cast than their new iron.

If I could see one of these new pieces and hold it I might have to bite on it and try it.

So if it's a pound lighter than "the competition", is it 100% cast iron or a metal blend?

It is 100% cast iron according to the website. I suppose that modern foundry technique/manufacturing processes help to save the weight.
