If we don't like the results of a study done on something we consume,  we generally look to find a different study done on the same consumable with more favorable results. Which one then is the correct one you might ask?  It's anyone's guess, but only your genetics will know for sure! Example...many years ago in a human anatomy class I had, the professor stated that just 50% of the smoking population were adversely affected by the cigarettes they smoked. That blew me away! Same cigarettes,  different results.  What gives?  Quite simply....DNA.  DNA determines our longevity or our short visit on Earth.  We won't know our outcome until too late in the game, but the best advice is moderation as Hub pointed out.  My late father had a saying that I heard often, ( mostly in my wild years) that "too much is no good!" I'll think of my dad's wise words while I take a big bite out of a BLT!

A little bit of everything is far better than a lot of a few things!

Go and read the actual info from the W.H.O. and especially their "facts" sheet on this announcement.  It's total BS science.  At one point in their fact sheet the even admit it is statistically possible their findings are entirely the product of random chance.

They put out a solicitation on a subject and invite "scientist" to join in the discussion and then determine what studies they will use for their findings after the fact.  In essence they decide what they want to say, then find like minded cronies, and then vote on what studies fit their pre-determined outcome.  Hokum.........

They have posted that their next cancer study will be on "Coffee and other hot beverages".  This one is due out next spring.

Gus's view:

I can live my life eating what I am told is healthy for me, avoid all the items that I am told are not. By doing this I can plan on living many more years. However, any day I can get hit by a bus that didn't read the plan.

So I will eat and drink what I want (in somewhat moderation) and take my chances.

All meat is processed. Otherwise it would still be walking around. Moderation and being thankful may help.

I just gave up eating my three slices of bacon everyday for breakfast. I have been doing it for 30 years until now. Based on this study I must stop this right now.
