Weber Spirit issue
« Reply #-1 on: February 17, 2018, 11:06:29 AM »
I've had a Weber spirit 3 burner grill for a couple of years and it's been great for when I want to use gas. So the problem came a couple weeks ago when I did a couple of steaks which I always cold smoke then reverse sear. Finished up searing and went in and ate dinner and went to bed. Anyone notice the missed step there? I forgot to turn the damn thing off  ???! Burned through the rest of the propane bottle on full blast. Lucky it didn't catch on fire or do any other damage.

Now it won't get much above 225-250. Took the whole thing apart and gave it a good deep cleaning and inspection and things actually looked fine. After cleaning it I fired it up and it ran perfect and did another cook on it without issue, must have gotten lucky! Well, the next cook and it won't get up to temp again.

My question is what should I be looking at as the problem? Nothing looks obviously damaged or off and it did run fine, if only once, after I cleaned it. Regulator? Burners looked to be in fine shape, heat shields were fine, nothing warped of out of place. Not much to these things so it has me wondering. Thoughts?

Mike I am bumping this for you. Maybe some of the folks that are more gas - savvy can help...

Regulator was pretty much the only thing I could think of and the consensus seems to be leaning the same way. May just pick a new one up to swap out and see. Doesn't seem it could really by anything else, but figured I'd ask. Thanks!
