Defective Man Gene
« Reply #-1 on: June 26, 2013, 07:14:53 PM »
Well like most men I have been burdened from birth by the the gene that as a rule turns us into complete idiots. You know the one. I don't need no stinkin map! Or the ever popular I don't need no stinking manual. Well as I was watching a boring tv show I decided to peruse my new cameras user manual. Hush, don't tell anyone. I have been trying to find the correct settings for food photos the last couple of weeks. Guess what the camera has built in settings for?

Lets all pretend I did this by myself! Will try it this weekend. Sometimes my stupidity is only exceeded by my laziness!  :D

:D :D :D  Now my wife would never shame me by reading the manual and making me look like an idiot. She waits patiently, time is not an issue, and when I finally figure it out and with great enthusiasm tell her it was there all along, that nasty little balloon thing appears above her head with the one and only word.  DUH!  ;)

That must be the same camera Capt Jack uses with picture enhancement and color saturation, etc.

His food couldn't REALLY look that good, could it?  And what about Meube...you KNOW he has to be touchin' up a lot of his pics.

One of these days I'm gonna forget about which smoker to use and focus on gettin' the right camera (no pun intended).  THEN I'll have some great lookin' food to post.

just sayin'...

I think that gene skipped a generation with me.  My father thinks the manuals are in case it doesn't sit level on the ground.  You stuff the manual under whatever part is short.

Me - I actually read the manuals.  Freaks my wife out too.  I'll come home with a new toy of some sort, open the box, fish out the manual, then put the box aside while I read the manual.  I think I caught her looking up psychiatrists for me a couple of times.

Making the food look delicious???

If it can do that to my food it's magic.

If it's magic I want it to make my food taste delicious!

You got me thinking.  I wondered if there were any apps available for my Android phone that could make my food pictures look a bit better.  I found one called CameraAce.  I told it to process some of my pictures that I'd already taken with the BeautyHDR filter.  Here was the difference:

Before:

After:

After:

I think, for the most part, I like the after pictures better.  I may have to start using this app.  Thanks for the idea!
