Well...if it had said "spineless rectums"...we would have all recognized this as boxes of "punctured politicians" - with all of the hot air let out...you can fit a lot of them in a box ;) :D

I think this is the part after the chitlins end. They apparently use a lot of them in Taiwan but no one seems to know what for. Possibilities include some kind of dumpling and frying them like calamari rings.

After reading the article one thing really caught my attention

Don't consume hot dogs, bologna, etc., at all--even after multiple adult beverages.   We had a packing plant in town for years and when in grade school they took us on a field trip through the plant.   When we got to the room with a big vat of steaming, gray matter being stirred around, smelling to high heaven, and they told us that mixture would end up as hotdogs and bologna (before they put all the red dye crap into it), I swore off then, and have had only very little bologna since.   No hot dogs--not even with onions, mustard (no matter how hot), chili con carne and/or cheese since.    That is one of those smells one never forgets, IMHO.   Everytime I smell or see a hot dog, I can smell that mess!

When I worked in the Packing House these were sent to Japan. They serve them as a delicacy. They roll them up with rice and veggies and fish then steam them and slice like a jelly roll. Is what was told to us. It is much thicker than the casings we use for sausage making
