A new Portable Kitchen in the works...??
« Reply #-1 on: February 26, 2015, 09:33:04 PM »
I had heard that PK did have a couple of other retro PK Grills in their possession.  Looks like we might get a larger model soon.....

Here is a tidbit from the Arkansas Times from back in 2012..

Paul James said the next step for the modern incarnation of PK Grills is a plan to put a larger size grill into production, with around 420 square inches of cooking area. They hope to have it in the works by the end of this year. Like the classic Portable Kitchen grill they currently make, it will be based on an old Portable Kitchen design. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Probably will be one of these gems:

Tried to buy a green one with 2 tables a few years back, they were throwing charcoal on the floor of the grill & used expanded metal for the grate, I'd of restored it

If you like buying cookers don't buy the PK ::)
While a weber kettle will last a long time the average age of burning out is 10 years, way too long between grills!
The cast aluminum of the PK will (except for acts of God ) last forever :'(
You'll NEVER be able to justify another grill!

That's what it really sounds like.  That's also the reason I'm not getting one.  I like my Weber too much and have no reason to replace it.

I guess if something bad happened to the Kettle (you know, like another Hurricane Hugo ! ! !)

Got this correspondence from Martha James from PK:

Thank you for contacting PK grills.  We are in the process of tons of product development.  I can not give you a date for the larger PK.  Probably some time in late 2016.

Go ahead, get another PK.  You can give it away when the larger one comes out :)
