There are a few members that are having issues with the chat function - and the private messaging. Please reply to this post, and let us know if you are having these issues.
Include what Operating System you are using, and which browser, and version of that browser.

I cannot use chat.  The only way I can PM someone is if I go and search for a member first.  I cannot look at member profiles and choose to send them a PM (possibly chat there too?).  If I go to lok at a profile, I basically get told I don't have the right access to do that.  This issue happens for me on the following combinations:

Mac, OSX Lion, Safari
Mac, OSX Lion, Firefox
Mac, OSX Lion, Google Chrome
iPad, iOS 5, Safari

I think that it could be browser related (cookies or JavaScript not enabled or something) but if it seems widespread with members, it might be a setting within the forum software itself instead if a combination of OS/browsers on the member side.

It says     you can't enter chat in red letters before you even try to sign in....

I am experiencing the same problems as Johnny has described. I am using Google Chrome with Windows 7.64.

Also, when I post a message, I get stuck on the post reply screen. My back button will not let me escape from this page. I need to go to history and choose a prior page to release myself from "post reply" jail. I think that this might be some setting on my end because I don't think anyone else is experiencing this problem. It just happens on this one page.

No chat have not tried to PM but will see if I can. Just tried the chat mode and this is the message at the bottom.

Just tried to click on Tee's name for a PM and was told "You are not allowed to access this section"

I run Vista and Google Chrome, tried with IE8 and got the same

Seems it wont let me log into the chat room either. Also it would be nice to have the chat room open up in a new tab that way if you are the first in the chat room you can still be in the chat room yet can also browse the forum. Until you hear the tone letting you know that someone else has entered into the chat room.

Thank you folks for posting your results - as you can see - we are still de-bugging it, but once we get it worked out, you will be able to chat "in aggregate", in a chat room.

Hey, everybody, I just logged into the chat room and it is working. Can't wait for all my friends to hang out there and talk to each other in real time. It will be great.

The profiles are coming up, also. We can now PM each other.

Yep, it looks like chat is working.  I notw have a chat option at the top and I am able to click on member profiles.

Admins, what was the fix?

I think Rick (admin) mentioned something about having to teach the squirrels that run the servers something about soccer, then feed them  ex-lax laced food. ....
Or at least - that was what I think he meant by having to "Kick the crap out of the system".......

Bad database error exception actually. I had to force rebuild the database. Or in layman's terms, "it needed more duct tape."
