Has Rec Tec discontinued manufacturing the RT300 Mini?
« Reply #-1 on: November 30, 2017, 01:01:03 AM »
Took me over a year, flip flopping back and forth between several great pellet grill manufacturers, before finally deciding on one.  The Rec Tec RT300.  Perfect size for just me and my Wife, extremely portable, ceramic igniter, porcelain coated lid, stainless fire pot and drip tray and it has cooked meat better than I had hoped.  However, after posting pictures on a Rec Tec Facebook Forum, a couple gentlemen alerted me that this particular model has been discontinued.

Call the manufacturer, or send them an e-mail.

That is a shame. Solid cooker as we see from Toms videos. Luckily there are many offerings in that price point. Keep an eye out for great Pit Boss holiday deals this time of year.............

Dee just bought one last week at the RecTec warehouse and showroom. I think he said they were discontinuing this model because they were coming out with a wifi/bluetooth model very soon. He found one with a small scratch on it and he got it for $300. Dee and I were at the warehouse in Augusta last month a I kind of remember them saying this model was being discontinued because of the upgrades. But then again, my memory suffers greatly at times so don't take this as gospel.

Call them and ask what they have in stock and/or when the new one is coming out.

Well that would be great if its true,  been   considering a few different pellet smokers and really liked  the RecTecs  (the 680 )  but really wanted one with  an input for the meat temp  and  WiFi .   Tho I suppose the price  which is part of what makes it so attractive is going to go  up.

Even though now discontinued, I am genuinely glad I was able to purchase a Rec Tec RT300 last month in late October.  From the few cooks I have done, bacon, hamburger, steak, chicken, chocolate chip toll house cookies, I am a wood pellet grill convert.  Everything positive said about them is true.  I bought a Maverick ET733 temperature set with two meat probes and has worked well.  Also bought a Thermapen Mk4 to take quick instant read temps for anything I do not stick a probe into, like hamburgers.  Bought a Boston boneless pork butt yesterday to try my first ever low and slow cook, for pulled pork.  Will let everyone interested know how it turns out.

I am pretty sure Rec Tec will have components in stock for a very long while if and when RT300 owners need them.
