Title: First attempt at Pulled Beef
Post by: KJRsmoker on August 12, 2017, 07:47:19 PM
So I bought some chuck roast at Costco and decided to smoke it on my MAK.  Cooked at 250F for 3 hours.  Put in a full foil pan with 32oz of warmed beef broth and cooked for another 2.5 hours until IT was 195F.  Turned out awesome.  Grilled up some onions and made a burrito.  Vacuum sealed for a later day.

(By the way, I used DropShots to upload my pictures.  Way easier than PhotoBucket.)

You are definitely correct on that statement.  The flavor was great, and it was way easier to cook than a pork butt.

I would take pulled beef over pork butt everyday of the week. Not quite sure why I do a butt so much more often, I guess from habit.  Much quicker and easier to do the chuckie, way more versatile for leftovers.  Makes a great omelet with some swiss cheese for a quick breakfast.
Like the idea of pulled beef burritos, great idea.  I need to keep some of those low carb wraps on hand, they make a great handle for que without all the dough.
Nice cook!

That looks great. I was going to do a pulled chuck for Guinness Stout Chuck Roast but it was just too hot out and it went in the dutch oven

I left it covered in the pan with the broth for about 2 hours then pulled.
