3 New BBQ Toys
« Reply #-1 on: March 19, 2016, 12:53:24 PM »
Mar 19 2016

I got 3 new bbq toys the last two days from Amazon. I got a nice meat injector and a pair of high heat gloves; both were by Grillbeast. The injector is well made and comes with an extra silicone gaskets, and two different needles. One needle has holes along the sides and the other the point is open slant tip. The one with the holes if for all liquid and the slant tip is for marinades with fine chopped ingredients. It also has a life time warranty. The gloves are supposed to be good for just over 600deg.

I also got a Maverick laser thermometer that was from Amazon but fulfilled by Grill Grates. It costs a little more than other makes but every time I get cheap electronics that what I get. Having used two different Mavericks probes with great luck I trust the name. This one is more of the toy but it will be nice to see the temps of my different grill grates.

... 3 new bbq toys ...

Look like good choices but could you please call them "culinary tools" instead of "toys?" Convincing SWMBO that all grill- and BBQ-related items are absolutely necessary is an uphill battle at best. Just when I think she's beginning to understand (or at least acquiesce), she sees a post calling them "toys" and I have to start all over again. I'm getting too old to reeducate her every time this happens.

Also (for the rest of the brethren and sistren), please NEVER refer to what we do as a "hobby." "Calling" and "vocation" are far more accurate terms which remove the element of frivolity from "I really need/I gotta have ..." conversations.

Thanks.
Everyone is entitled to my opinion
