I wonder if this part of the system really works

[color=blueProblem 3: You don't know how long it takes to cook your meat which makes it difficult to plan your side dishes or do other tasks.

Solutions: Using the Meater Dual Sensor System, the Meater app will tell you the estimated time your food will be ready so you can manage your time better.

This one is tough to figure on

[/Problem 4: You don't know how high the internal temperature of your meat will increase while resting. This could lead to over cooking your food.

Solution: Using the Meater Dual Sensor System, it can accurately estimate the resting temperature of your food and notify you when to take it off the grill or oven. This way, the internal heat can rise to the correct target temperature and deliver the perfect cook.

Been waiting on those to start shipping.  Once I see a few folks posting good things about them in the real world, I'm in for a block of 4.

I bit on the Kickstarter a few months back - hopefully will see the real deal within a few months.  Will put it to the test and report back.

Any suggestions for the test runs?  What would you all like to see?

Nice!!  I loved the idea of these when I first saw the kickstarter, and hope they work well!

Would love to see some reviews and testing on how accurate the "estimated time till finished" does-- that one seems a bit tricky, but would be cool if it worked, even as a rough guide.  With temp swings varying so much in different types of pits, it seems like the estimated finish time might just change up and down all the time as the temp swings up and down? Like "Your meat will be done in... thirteen minutes."   Then say "Your meat will be done in... twenty five minutes."   Then "Your meat will be done in... three minutes"  or something like that.   Curious to see if they're reading the IT or the external temp in the pit to make those calculations...

Also with the resting time-- that would be neat to see some tests on steaks/roasts to see how well they do with estimated resting time to final desired IT.

And also the range and how they hold up to high temps over time (especially the batteries!).

I want to see how it performs in sous vide. I've been making my summer sausage in sous vide lately and they show it vacuum packed in the bag in a sous vide bath in one of the promo photographs.  I've done summer sausage straight up in sous vide (with hickory powder for smoke flavor in the meat mix), and I've also smoked them normally and finished in sous vide.  What I like about finishing in sous vide is they are already vacuum packed for storage and the one I temp test will be the one I keep out to eat.

Yes, I will also use it in the smoker for normal smokes as well.  But I don't want to be a "beta tester" so even if it costs me a little more, I want to know it's a proven product before I plop down that sort of money on something totally new.
