I think a stand alone kettle would be easier to take down and pack up.

Yepper, I have one and absolutely love it.

It's low-tech compared to a MAK or Memphis, but the control is better than Traeger's 3-position as it's an infinite position style rheostat.

It's a nice cross between old-school and new school.

Old-school in that you it doesn't maintain a set temp; you set the pellet feed rate, so you do have to tweak it for temp as the food cooks.

New School in that it's a lot easier adding pellets than charcoal and you don't have the charcoal/ashes to deal with after cooking. It's also much easier controlling the temp.

As far as portability in a pellet grill, I think it can't be beaten. Even with my Weber Performer, I can load it up in the back of my mini-van and take it.  A small 12 volt lawn/garden tractor battery will power it with no problems for hours on end. A long cook is no problem.

We took it to the Church Luncheon back in February to finish cooking a brisket.

The Weber One-Touch Silver is all you need. The One-Touch Gold will work, but the extra features (which cost more) are literally not used with the Stoven and the One-Touch Platinum is NOT a good design for the Stoven because of how the lid opens.

If you like I can re-post my review of it here later today and am more than happy to answer any questions.

Rick,
Did you pick up your new MH yet?  You have probably already measured everything to see just what will work.  T has told me that he is picking up one of your "toys".  PM me if you are getting rid of anything I might like to add to my collection.
