Turkey suggestions
« Reply #-1 on: July 23, 2014, 11:06:24 AM »
Anyone have any advice for doing a turkey in the barrel?  I watched the video, but not sure if that's the best way to go.  I always thought you were supposed to cook them breast side up.  I was thinking butterflying and cooking on grate.  Or butterflying and hanging, if it looks like it will hold.  I am thinking it will be about 10 to 15 minutes a pound.  Also planning on using Famous Dave's Chicken rub on it.

Thanks
Dave

I don't own a PBC but I would use a turkey hanger (used in oil cookers when frying turkeys)  it would hang from the rod yet keep the turkey high enough to cook without burning
